THE WAVE PROJECT
Victory of Determination is a short film sharing the story of surf therapy and the determination of surfers and their families, through the Wave Project’s North Devon Adaptive Surf Hub in Croyde, North Devon, to get everyone in the water no matter their disability.
It’s been a huge pleasure getting to know more about the charity and the amazing volunteers and surf coaches who help many truly inspirational people with various disabilities gain access to a sport that would be otherwise impossible, and experience all the thrills and health benefits that go with it.
The Wave Project is a fantastic British charity aimed at helping young people who are struggling by changing lives through surfing. Based in Cornwall, they have projects running nationally, and we have been working with the North Devon team documenting some of their amazing work through film and photography.
Spending time in the water, filming, and seeing first hand the benefits that surfing has on vulnerable young people has been amazing - truly catering for a wide range of difficulties and disabilities. It’s been a real pleasure getting to know so many incredible people and hearing so many inspiring stories.
